Use calipers to measure the clamp size
Calipers are one of the most commonly used tools for measuring clamp dimensions. The steps to correctly use a caliper to measure the clamp size are as follows:
1. Open the two claws of the caliper so that they are flush with the clamp;
2. Place the long claw on the inside of the clamp and the short claw on the outside of the clamp;
3. Close the caliper and read the clamp size. You can check the clamp size table to determine the clamp model.
Use the clamp gauge to measure the clamp size
A clamp gauge is a tool specially used to measure the size of a clamp. The steps for using a clamp gauge to measure the size of a clamp are as follows:
1. Press the clamp gauge onto the clamp to be measured;
2. Read the size of the clamp through the scale on the clamp gauge;
3. Compare the specific model of the clamp according to the clamp size table.
Matters needing attention
When measuring the clamp size, the following items should be noted:
1. The caliper or clamp gauge and the clamp must maintain a certain verticality, otherwise the measurement results will be affected;
2. When reading the measurement results, the results should be read at the clearer reading line on the caliper or clamp gauge to avoid reading deviations due to poor viewing angles;
3. When using a clamp gauge to measure, the clamp gauge should be pressed tightly on the clamp to ensure accurate measurement results.
